California E-Waste Updates: Electronic Product Management

This electronic newsletter is an update on the implementation of California's Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 and other electronic waste (e-waste) management developments in California.

#### Draft Agenda Available For November 5th Covered Electronic Waste Stakeholder Workshop ####

The California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) has scheduled a full day meeting for stakeholders in the covered electronic waste (CEW) recovery and recycling payment system. The meeting will be held Monday, November 5, 2007, at the Cal/EPA Headquarters Building in Sacramento.

A draft meeting agenda has been posted to provide interested parties with a concept of what may be discussed. The agenda is available at: www.ciwmb.ca.gov/Electronics/Act2003/Workshops/2007Nov5/default.htm.

The format of the meeting will be a structured and moderated conversation, seeking to facilitate substantive discussion between program staff and participants, and between participants themselves. There will be a simultaneous audio web-cast of the meeting. Remote attendees participating via the web will be able to submit comments and questions via an e-mail address.

Please note that this meeting is not intended to be a summit on e-waste management issues in general in California, nor is it a rulemaking exercise. It should be viewed as an opportunity for both the CIWMB and program participants to better understand the implications, consequences and realities facing the CEW program, and to continue what has been a robust and open dialog with stakeholders since the program`s inception.
